Position Description
The primary role of faculty is to serve as facilitators of student learning. Faculty enhance the learning process through educational and discipline specific professional development activities. Faculty advance the institution through participation in college, professional, and community activities.
The Engineering Technology faculty will provide instruction to students in a variety of technical areas depending on background. Course topics within the department include:
Faculty also work on programmatic items such as assessment, accreditation, student advising, recruitment and industry interactions. Engineering Technology programs are currently offered as "day" and "night" programs. Course are offered in-person and online as-is appropriate; applicant must be flexible in hours and able to deliver courses effectively in multiple modalities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
FACILITATOR OF STUDENT LEARNING: The teaching and learning process is a partnership promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience between teacher and student. This process provides meaningful learning experiences enabling learners to develop their ability to solve problems, think critically and creatively, and communicate effectively while developing marketable technical skills. Qualifications
Applicant must possess a bachelor's degree.
A minimum of an associate's degree in engineering technology must be paired with a non-technical bachelor's degree.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering technology or engineering science
3 years of work experience in a related industry
Prior technical teaching or industrial training experience
Strong written and oral communication
Industry recognized technical credentials
Optional qualifications
A master's degree is not required for hire; but is a promotion requirement for faculty at the College. Absent a master's degree, the faculty member will be required to develop and follow a plan to earn a master's degree.
Professional Engineer's license is not required for hire or employment at any point
