PGS Worldwide is seeking an Engineering Test Technician in Goleta, CA for a one-year onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Engineering Test Technician will support the test department by providing technical support to engineers on component and system-level testing activities. This role includes executing test plans and procedures, supporting test readiness reviews, recording technical data, maintaining test documentation, troubleshooting test issues, and supporting internal and external customer needs. The position requires technician experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, the ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, and experience working in cleanroom and environmental test areas.
Required Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
• 2+ years of overall technician experience in a manufacturing or engineering field.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office products and process documentation.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
• Experience working in an environmental test area.
• Ability to conduct tests and record data for engineering evaluation or analysis.
• Ability to gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data.
• Ability to troubleshoot test problems and support manufacturing, inspection, and test engineering issue resolution.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods.
• Ability to manipulate equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to support multiple shifts.
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with working around delicate spacecraft hardware.
• Certification in an engineering discipline.
What You’ll Do
• Provide test and technical support to engineers on technical tasks.
• Execute component and system-level test plans, procedures, and test events.
• Participate in test planning and test readiness reviews.
• Analyze measurement requirements and equipment measurement tolerances.
• Define and maintain documented best practices for test processes and equipment.
• Support maintenance and improvement of test equipment and infrastructure.
• Gather and manage component and system-level test results and engineering design change data.
• Conduct tests and record data to support engineering evaluation or analysis.
• Maintain engineering documentation, procedures, and test reports.
• Analyze test data and prepare reports in customer-required formats.
• Support internal and external customer needs.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve test-related issues.
Work Schedule / Shift
• 9/80A schedule.
• Must be able to support multiple shifts.
Pay
• $45.62 per hour
