Heavy-Gauge Vacuum Forming
Titusville, FL | Maintenance Department | Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with Overtime on Fridays
Pay Rate: $18.25 per hour
We are seeking a skilled Tooling Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Titusville, FL facility. In this role, you will be responsible for making and maintaining vacuum forming molds, fixtures, pre-draw boxes, and plug assists for heavy-gauge thermoplastic applications.
Understand and follow company expectations and work instructions for making quality parts.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD designs to build and modify tooling accurately.
Inspect machines, equipment, and the surrounding area for safety and quality compliance.
Operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment (saws, sanders, grinders, drill presses, etc.).
Fabricate tooling components using aluminum, wood, and composite materials, including fiberglass.
Build vacuum forming molds, fixtures, pre-draw boxes, and plug assists.
Inspect tooling for wear, surface defects, or structural damage, and perform repairs, resurfacing, reinforcement, and modifications as needed.
Identify dimensional inconsistencies and implement corrective tooling adjustments.
Assist in the design and development of plug assists and pre-draw systems to optimize material distribution.
Ensure proper vacuum flow, sealing surfaces, and cooling performance within molds and tooling systems.
Maintain organized tooling inventory and documentation for builds, repairs, and revisions.
Follow all safety procedures and practices, and keep your work area clean and organized.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD designs.
Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment including band saws and table saws.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with frequent bending and reaching.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and audio screening.
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires frequent standing, walking, and repetitive use of hands, with occasional bending and reaching. Work is performed in an environment involving frequent exposure to dust/dirt, heat, and noise, with occasional exposure to chemical fumes/vapors and vibration. Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes is required.
