Engineering Tools and Platform Lead

About the Role

Tintri is undergoing a ground-up rebuild of its engineering toolchain and SDLC. We need an Engineering Tools & Platform Lead to own this transformation end-to-end - driving migration from Bugzilla, Review Board, Mercurial, and a homegrown CI system to a modern Atlassian-first stack (Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo/Pipelines, Confluence, Zephyr Scale) with AI integration. This is not a support role - you are the architect, executor, and champion of the new platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the 30-60-90 day SDLC modernization roadmap and execute it on schedule
• Architect and administer the full Atlassian platform: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo/Pipelines, Opsgenie
• Lead migration from Bugzilla 5.0 to Jira: data migration, field mapping, workflow configuration, training
• Lead migration from Mercurial to Git (Bitbucket/GitHub): repo conversion, branch policy enforcement, history preservation
• Retire Review Board 3.0.11 and establish PR-based code review workflow in Bitbucket
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for all active product engineering projects
• Integrate SAST tooling (Snyk, SonarCloud) into CI pipelines with Jira auto-ticket creation
• Configure and maintain Zephyr Scale for structured test management linked to Jira issues
• Implement AI integrations: PR summary bot, ticket creation assist, release note generation
• Train all engineering staff on new tools and processes; maintain SDLC documentation in Confluence

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or engineering tools roles
• Expert-level Atlassian administration: Jira (schemes, workflows, permissions, automation), Confluence, Bitbucket
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience: Bamboo, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, or equivalent
• Experience migrating source control systems (Mercurial to Git strongly preferred)
• Experience with data migration from Bugzilla or similar legacy bug trackers to Jira
• Familiarity with SAST tools (Snyk, SonarCloud, Veracode) and their Jira integrations
• Scripting skills: Python, Bash, or equivalent for automation and migration tooling
• Experience with API integrations - REST APIs, webhooks, Atlassian Forge or Connect apps
• Ability to configure and manage Zephyr Scale or similar Jira-native test management tools
• Strong communication skills across engineers and directors
• Experience with LLM/AI API integrations a significant differentiator
• Familiarity with Linux build environments (RHEL/CentOS) and C/Java build systems preferred
