Medline Industries, LP is seeking Engineers Site Reliability to join our team in Northbrook, IL.

Job Description:

  • Help create, improve, maintain, automate, and troubleshoot highly scalable, reliable, and complex systems.
  • Work closely with a team of talented engineers who deliver mission-critical infrastructure and software, providing a high level of availability, performance, and security.
  • Manage and monitor systems and infrastructure hosted on-premises and Cloud.
  • Have a good understanding of the different layers of an application and system design, including networking concepts, cloud fundamentals, and microservice architectures.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain complex technical systems and architectures.
  • Manage and administer Kubernetes platform, deployments, and services.
  • Utilize common DevOps tools such as Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform, SonarQube, and JFrog.
  • Proficient on at least one APM tool, including Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk Signal Fx, AppDynamics, or Azure Monitor.
  • Write simple to moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, and alarms (preferably Bash, Python, Groovy, PowerShell).
  • Provide 24x7 on-call, 2nd, and 3rd level support as needed to troubleshoot day-to-day issues.
  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location 1 to 3 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

Job Requirements:

  • PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • ALTERNATE REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • In addition, experience with the following skills is required: (1) Experience administering cloud-native services across at least one of the following cloud-hosted platforms: container orchestration (Kubernetes services), virtual machines, networking components (VPCs, VNets, Load Balancers), or ensuring high availability and security across environments; (2) Experience managing cloud infrastructure across multiple accounts or subscriptions within cloud-hosted platforms, with a focus on cost optimization through tagging, role-based access control (RBAC), and enforcement of governance using organizational policies and compliance frameworks; (3) Experience applying DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to enhance software development workflows and ensure the reliability and availability of production system; (4) Experience developing alerting and observability strategies for cloud services using SRE golden signal principles to monitor system health and performance; (5) Experience working with distributed systems and troubleshooting production incidents related to microservices architectures; and (6) Experience configuring and monitoring telemetry data for microservices using cloud-native tools including CloudWatch, Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics, and depending on the platform in use.

WORK HOURS:         Full Time (8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday)

PAY RANGE:             $153,317.00 to $153,317.00 per year
