To provide high-quality instruction that promotes student achievement in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking while creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment. The Junior High English Language Arts Teacher will inspire students to become effective communicators, lifelong learners, and responsible citizens.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Indiana teaching license in the appropriate content area.
  • Knowledge of Indiana Academic Standards and best instructional practices.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively integrate technology into instruction.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective English Language Arts instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards and district curriculum.
  • Develop and implement lessons that engage students and address a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments and use assessment data to guide instruction.
  • Maintain a classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and academic success.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a wide range of students while fostering positive relationships and high expectations.
  • Effectively communicate with students, parents, staff, administration, and community members regarding student progress and school-related matters.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, instructional staff, and administration to support student success and school improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize appropriate instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and educational technology to maximize student learning.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, and other required documentation.
  • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school activities.
  • Follow all district policies, state regulations, and professional standards.
  • Perform supervisory duties as assigned.
  • Carry out all other duties and responsibilities associated with the teaching profession as assigned by the building principal.
