Chilton Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our EL team. TThe Chilton EL team includes one EL teacher at the elementary, middle and high school, along with 3 bilingual paraprofessionals. his position requires a commitment to supporting English Language Learners (ELLs) in both regular education environments and stand-alone classes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to EL students in regular education classrooms, ensuring their academic success and integration into the school community.
- Design and deliver stand-alone English language development courses tailored to the needs of EL students, focusing on language acquisition, and literacy skills.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to differentiate instruction and accommodate the diverse needs of EL students.
- Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative measures, and use data to inform instruction and support student growth.
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues to provide updates on student progress, address concerns, and collaborate on strategies for success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field with Valid Wisconsin Teaching License or willingness to pursue certification under emergency licensure.
- Preferred experience working with English Learners in a school setting
- Strong understanding of second language acquisition theory and best practices for teaching EL students
- Ability to differentiate instruction and accommodate diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
