About the Role:
Sylvan Learning Center in Marlton, NJ is looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to inspire students in grades 6th through 12th. Join a team that's committed to helping young learners build confidence, sharpen their skills, and reach their full academic potential. Please apply if the hours fit in your schedule and you are ready to commit long term. Our center is open the following days & times: Monday - Thursday: 4pm-8pm Saturday: 9am-1:00pm. 





Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, personalized English instruction to students in grades 6–12
• Assess student skill levels and tailor lesson plans to meet individual learning needs
• Provide instruction in reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and literary analysis
• Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
• Communicate student performance and milestones to Center Director
• Foster a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment
• Support students with essay writing, test preparation, and critical thinking skills

Requirements:

• State or provincial teaching credentials
• Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience of minimum three (3) years preferred
• Strong knowledge of middle and high school English curriculum standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, motivating, and student-centered teaching approach
• Ability to work with diverse learners, including those with learning challenges
• Teaching certification a plus, but not required
