Position Summary:

We are seeking an innovative and qualified secondary teacher to join the faculty of Brother Rice High School. The applicant will be a hardworking and enthusiastic teaching professional with excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of English and of the fundamentals of Speech and Broadcast Journalism.

The position will involve teaching speech and broadcast journalism classes to students in grades 9-12, with English language arts skills serving as the foundation of the curriculum. Students will develop and apply essential communication, rhetorical, and literacy skills in writing, speaking, listening, research, and critical thinking through the study and practice of speech and broadcast journalism. The applicant will be a motivated individual with a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring students to love learning and to excel in the subject area of English, Speech, and Broadcast Journalism.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

  • A relevant Master's or Bachelor's degree in content area

  • Certification:

  • Current State of Michigan Secondary English Certification (BA)

  • Experience:

  • Three years of successful high school teaching experience, including successful teaching of English and/or Speech classes
