Located on the southern bank of the Ohio River in NW Kentucky, Henderson County Schools is a Distinguished district serving 7,100 preschool through 12th grade students in 1 preschool center, 8 elementaries, 2 middle schools, a high school, a career-technical center, and an alternative education center. The district pledges to provide rigid academic standards through a varied curriculum to meet student needs today while having a vision for tomorrow. To demonstrate this, our district mission, vision, and core values were developed to address our desire to excel as a national innovative leader in education. The districts population mirrors the diversity of the Henderson community. 60 qualify for free-reduced meals, 12 receive gifted services, and 11 receive special education services. HCS employs over 1,100 staff members who provide extraordinary educational opportunities for every student.
