We are thrilled to announce an invitation, to qualified applicants, to consider joining our Necedah Cardinal Family as an English Teacher (Grades 6-12) for the 2026-27 school year at N-Gage Academy, in the Necedah Area School District.

N-Gage Academy is a public charter school serving students in grades 6-12 through a personalized, project-based approach that connects learning to the community and natural world. We are seeking a creative and collaborative applicant to continue our school's strong tradition of innovative, hands-on education.

This position focuses on designing and facilitating engaging, student-centered learning experiences both in the classroom and in the field. The teacher will provide instruction, guide small-group and individual learning, coordinate project-based and community experiences, and collaborate with colleagues to create authentic projects that connect academics to real life.

Responsibilities and expectations for this position include the following:

  • Plan and lead experiential learning opportunities such as field studies, biking, kayaking, hiking, and environmental investigations.

  • Design and facilitate personalized learning experiences that meet students where they are to support student autonomy and individual growth.

  • Work with students in small groups and one-on-one conferences to set goals, reflect on progress, and deepen understanding.

  • Coordinate field trips and partnerships that connect students with community organizations and local experts.

  • Collaborate closely with a co-teacher and classroom assistant to design engaging interdisciplinary, inquiry-based learning projects.

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment in a variety of settings.

  • Contribute to a school culture grounded in respect, curiosity, reflection, and collaboration.

Key Leadership Priorities:

  • Caring and compassionate: Appreciating what another person is going through and contributing to the happiness and well-being of that person, so they feel loved.

  • High integrity: Doing the right thing for the right reason, at all times.

  • Empowerment: Allowing others to take ownership (students, staff, families, community).

  • Communicator: Using empathetic, open-minded listening skills while also interpreting and creating messages to various audiences via appropriate interactions/exchanges.

  • Positive outlook/attitude: A growth mindset that helps you see and recognize opportunities by seeing the good in things (potential), rather than focusing on the bad things (weaknesses).

  • Creative/innovative: Imagine and implement new ideas and strategies.

Qualifications for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Wisconsin teaching license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Experience facilitating experiential, outdoor, project-based, or personalized learning.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

If you would be interested in joining us on our journey of excellence, and engaging with a student-centered school culture, please apply on WECAN, include a cover letter, resume, and 3 reference letters. Applicants must be certified to teach Middle School age students.
