English teacher in Indianapolis, IN

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are currently looking for English Language Teachers to provide in-person customized lessons to our clients in Indianapolis, IN.

Job Information:

• Class number: 201004
• Student: 1 adult
• Availability: Fridays 4:30 pm -6:30 pm, Saturdays (flexible)
• Preferred start date: ASAP
• Lesson Frequency: 1x a week
• Lesson Duration: 2 hours
• Class location: Near Fresco Italian Cafe on the Canal (Michigan St, Indianapolis, IN 46202, USA)
• Current target language level: Intermediate
• language spoken at home: Japanese
• Student’s language needs and goals: She would like her lessons to focus on common expressions and phrases that native speakers use in everyday situations, as well as developing confidence in conversations with native speakers. She is also interested in learning about how schools operate in her new country and gaining an understanding of local business culture and workplace communication.She enjoys conversation practice during lessons and prefers a structured learning approach. However, she is comfortable with her teacher adjusting the lesson plan when necessary to address areas where additional support or improvement may be beneficial. She would also appreciate exercises and activities to complete between lessons to reinforce what she has learned and improve retention. Learning through a variety of methods is important to her, and she benefits from a combination of speaking, listening, reading, and written practice.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons
• Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes
• Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals
• Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in the target language
• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or related field
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience
