Columbus High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School English Teacher to join our team beginning in the 2026-27 school year. This is a full-time position located at Columbus High School in Columbus, WI. Experience teaching either AP English Literature & Composition or AP English Language & Composition is a plus, but is not required. The candidate hired for this position will be responsible for teaching both AP English Literature & Composition and AP English Language & Composition in 2026-27.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Teaching a range of high school English courses, which may expand all grade levels and abilities from our beginning freshman to our advanced upperclassmen
Developing and implementing engaging, standards-aligned curriculum and lesson plans.
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
Assessing student progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
Collaborating with the English department and other faculty members to enhance the overall educational experience.
Supervising student activities, clubs, or co-curricular programs as needed.
Attending and participating in professional development opportunities and faculty meetings
Communicating effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree in English Language Arts or a related field.
Valid Wisconsin teaching license in High School English (or eligibility to obtain one).
Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in English Language instruction and classroom management.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with technology integration in the classroom is preferred.
Interviews are anticipated to take place on Tuesday, June 9th.
