ONE YEAR LIMITED TERM POSITIONS

JOB LOCATION: Watertown High School

CERTIFICATION: Wisconsin DPI Licensure - English (1300) and preference with candidates with any experience or training in AVID strategies.

PERCENTAGE: 100% - One year Limited Term Positions

START DATE: August 24, 2026 (new teacher orientation is August 17-20, 2026)

JOB DESCRIPTION: The high school English department supporting teachers teaching a comprehensive Language Arts curriculum.

Qualified candidates should possess:

  • Passion to teach high school students;
  • Ability to be student centered;
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of student learning needs and styles;
  • Ability to align instruction to academic standards;
  • Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff;
  • Able to develop relationships and support all students in their academic, social, and emotional success;
  • Ability to include technology in classroom instruction;
  • Supportive of students in an inclusionary setting;

THE DISTRICT: Selected candidate will help to further the WUSD mission to serve our students by providing educational opportunities to promote academic excellence and a lifelong love of learning and to lead families, students and staff in realizing the WUSD vision of inspired learners through student-centered education strengthened by community involvement.

The Watertown School District has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students taught in seven buildings. WHS's 75 teachers and 4 administrators serve 950 students on a 150-acre campus that includes two charter schools - Endeavor Charter School and eCampus Charter School. WHS provides an extensive curriculum for the students, as well as an array of athletic, non-athletic, and academic co-curricular activities for students.

THE COMMUNITY: The Watertown community has 24,000 residents and is located on the Rock River approximately halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, at the junction of Highways 16, 19, and 26.
