English Tutor/Nanny in Pasadena

We are seeking an English Tutor/Nanny for an international family with a 2nd grader in Pasadena. The preferred schedule is any 4 days Mon-Fri 5pm-8pm and Sat/Sun 10am-4pm. You can choose any 4 days to work Mon-Fri and will have one day off. This is the preferred schedule; however, the family can be flexible if you require a minimum of 4 hours a day or if you’d prefer to work fewer days. The tutor shall provide patient, academic guidance, creating a positive learning environment. The goal is to gradually strengthen the student’s English reading comprehension and writing skills through targeted training and progressive learning tasks. The ideal candidate has an extroverted personality and has the ability to make learning fun and enjoyable.

Responsibilities include:

• School pick-up
• Supervise and assist with daily homework
• Conduct daily English practice (written & verbal), including at least 30 minutes of in-depth reading
• Design and implement a systematic English learning plan for the student, cultivating stable learning habits and a strong interest in English
• Arrange regular outdoor weekend activities to enrich daily life, reduce screen time, and help the student get rid of dependence on electronic devices
• Introduce American culture, history, and social knowledge to broaden the student’s international vision
• Provide weekly updates of progress and activities

Requirements:

• Native English Speaker
• Bachelor’s degree
• Clean driving and criminal record

Salary: $50/hr + yearly increase if performance is outstanding
