Description

Description

  • Do you believe that children thrive when they have time to read, play, explore, build, move, create, and make meaningful choices?
  • Do you believe enrichment should feel joyful, purposeful, and child-centered, not like an extension of worksheets or test prep?
  • Do you believe that before-school, after-school, weekend, and summer periods can be powerful spaces for children to develop independence, curiosity, confidence, friendships, and a love of learning?

If these ideas energize you, then you may be the Enrichment Director Strive Charter School is looking for.

  • Our enrichment programming is an important part of that vision. Before school, after school, weekends, and summer should give children space to read, play, create, move, build, socialize, and choose from rich activities that support both academic growth and childhood joy.

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Help develop enrichment programming and scheduling for after school, weekend enrichment, and summer camp.
  • Create clear program blocks that allow students to make autonomous choices among enrichment activities.
  • Supervise after-school teachers, assistant teachers, summer interns, and volunteers during enrichment programming.
  • Ensure students are safe, supervised, engaged, and supported during all enrichment blocks.
  • Serve as the point person for families regarding enrichment programming, questions, concerns, and daily communication.
  • Support smooth transitions, meals, recreation, independent reading, enrichment activities, dismissal, and program closeout
  • Monitor program spaces and ensure staff are actively supervising students and following Strive’s expectations.
  • Address student behavior in the moment using Strive’s expectations and procedures.
  • Communicate with Assistant Principals and the School Principal when additional support is needed.
  • Help create a positive, organized, child-centered, and family-centered enrichment culture.

The Enrichment Director Supports Programming Across:

  • After School - Extended Day/After-school programming focused on independent reading, play, enrichment, recreation, meals, and student choice.
  • Weekend Enrichment - Saturday and Sunday programming focused on sports, arts, STEM, local trips, recreation, reading, play, and enrichment.
  • Summer Camp - Full-time summer programming focused on recreation, enrichment, movement, reading, play, and joyful student experiences. (starting Summer 2027)

This role reports to the School Principal and is ideal for someone who enjoys building joyful programs, supervising staff, supporting families, and creating structured spaces where children can make meaningful choices.
