Enrobing Operator – 2nd ShiftHayden Valley Foods has an immediate opening for an experienced Enrobing Operator – 2nd Shift to join our production team.Since 1967, Hayden Valley Foods has built a strong reputation for quality nut, snack, and confectionery products, dependable service, and consistent results. They take ownership of their production line and work closely with Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance to ensure each product meets our standards for quality, food safety, appearance, consistency, and efficiency.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with production equipment, pays close attention to product quality, can identify when something isn't running correctly, and takes pride in seeing a product through from start to finish.If you're mechanically inclined, dependable, quality-focused, and motivated by meeting production goals, we'd like to hear from you!Position SummaryThe Enrobing Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of assigned enrobing equipment and production lines.This position monitors product flow and coating quality throughout the production process and makes appropriate equipment or process adjustments within established operating procedures.The Enrobing Operator works closely with Production Management, Quality Control, Maintenance, and other production team members to meet production goals while maintaining company standards for safety, food safety, quality, sanitation, and efficiency.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, monitor, and shut down enrobing equipment according to established procedures.Take ownership of assigned equipment, production runs, and daily production goals.Monitor product flow, coating coverage, appearance, weight, consistency, and overall finished-product quality.Monitor and adjust approved machine settings and operating parameters as necessary to maintain product specifications.Identify equipment or process issues and perform basic troubleshooting within the scope of operator responsibilities.Promptly report mechanical problems or equipment malfunctions requiring Maintenance assistance.Work cooperatively with Maintenance personnel during troubleshooting and repairs.Communicate quality concerns to Production Management and Quality Control and place product on hold when required by company procedures.Verify the correct product, ingredients, packaging materials, labels, and production specifications are being used.Perform required quality and production checks throughout the production run.Accurately complete required production, quality, traceability, and other documentation.Assist with equipment setup, product changeovers, line clearance, cleaning, and sanitation.Follow allergen-control and cross-contact prevention procedures during production and changeovers.Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.Follow all applicable GMP, SSOP, HACCP, SQF, sanitation, allergen-control, and other food safety requirements.Follow all company safety procedures, including machine guarding and Lockout/Tagout requirements when applicable.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Communicate production status, equipment concerns, quality issues, and other relevant information to supervisors and appropriate team members.Assist other production areas as needed based on operational requirements.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired:High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.Previous manufacturing, machine operation, or production experience.Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions, formulas, production specifications, and safety procedures.Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize equipment or process abnormalities.Ability to perform basic math and accurately use scales and other measuring equipment.Strong attention to detail and product quality.Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a production team.Dependable attendance and punctuality.Ability to work overtime when required.Preferred:Previous food manufacturing experience.Previous experience operating enrobing, coating, confectionery, or similar food-processing equipment.Experience working in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.Familiarity with GMP, SSOP, HACCP, SQF, allergen-control, and food safety requirements.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently reach, bend, stoop, balance, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Heavier materials may require team lifting or appropriate material-handling equipment.The employee must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position throughout the scheduled shift.Work EnvironmentThis position is performed in a food manufacturing and production environment.
