About the Opportunity

A well-established and growing West Michigan CPA firm is seeking an Enrolled Agent (EA) to join its tax-focused team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients, preparing individual tax returns, and expanding their experience with business taxation.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience preparing individual tax returns, along with exposure to S-Corporation and C-Corporation tax returns. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative CPA firm where quality client service, technical tax knowledge, and long-term client relationships are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Prepare and review individual federal and state income tax returns
• 
  
• Prepare tax returns for a variety of individual clients with varying levels of complexity
• 
  
• Assist with preparation of S-Corporation and C-Corporation tax returns
• 
  
• Research tax issues and identify opportunities for clients to maximize tax efficiency
• 
  
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer tax questions, and resolve issues
• 
  
• Assist clients with tax planning and provide guidance throughout the year
• 
  
• Review tax documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• 
  
• Assist with IRS and state tax notices and correspondence as needed
• 
  
• Stay current on changes to federal and state tax laws and regulations
• 
  
• Collaborate with other members of the firm to provide comprehensive accounting and tax services
• 
  
• Contribute to a positive, professional client experience
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Enrolled Agent (EA) credential preferred
• 
  
• Several years of experience preparing individual tax returns
• 
  
• Strong understanding of federal and state individual taxation
• 
  
• Experience with or working knowledge of S-Corporation and C-Corporation taxation
• 
  
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• 
  
• Excellent communication and client-service skills
• 
  
• Ability to manage multiple tax returns and deadlines during tax season
• 
  
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office
•
