Ensemble Integration Engineer - Senior Associate

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Ensemble Integration Engineer - Senior Associate in New York, NY. Overview: Our client is seeking an InterSystems Ensemble Integration Developer to support healthcare data integration and interoperability initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining clinical integration workflows that process and route real-time and batch healthcare data, including HL7, CCDA, and web service-based integrations. The ideal candidate will have experience building and supporting Ensemble interfaces, message transformations, routing rules, and custom ObjectScript solutions. They will work closely with data engineering, ETL, and business teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable data exchange between healthcare providers, EHRs, laboratories, and enterprise data platforms. Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, and supporting InterSystems Ensemble integration workflows and message routing solutions
• Building and maintaining HL7, CCDA, SOAP/API, and file-based integrations
• Developing custom ObjectScript and DTL transformations to standardize and validate clinical data
• Supporting MPI/EMPI integrations and enterprise patient matching processes
• Monitoring interface performance, troubleshooting integration issues, and managing L2/L3 escalations
• Onboarding new healthcare vendors and source systems while ensuring efficient implementation and testing
• Collaborating with ETL and data engineering teams to support downstream analytics and reporting platforms
• Maintaining HIPAA-compliant integration processes, security controls, documentation, and operational runbooks
• Supporting change management, incident management, and SLA-driven production support activities

Requirements:

• Minimum degree required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 5-8 years of hands-on experience with InterSystems Ensemble - Business Services, Business Processes, Business Operations, DTL, and Routing Rules development
• Expert-level proficiency in HL7 v2.x message standards - ORU (lab results), ADT (admission/discharge/transfer), ORM (orders), and DFT (financial transactions) message types
• Strong ObjectScript programming skills - custom transformations, SOAP web service client/server development, and complex DTL mapping logic
• Hands-on CCDA/CDA XML processing experience - parsing, validating, and transforming clinical document structures in Ensemble
• Experience integrating with EMPI/MPI systems via SOAP web services for patient identity resolution and Member ID derivation
• Solid understanding of clinical integration patterns - real-time vs batch message processing, file-based interfaces, and trigger file mechanisms
• Familiarity with enterprise ETL file reader/file adapter integration patterns for downstream consumption of Ensemble-generated data files
• Strong SQL proficiency for clinical data validation, audit queries, and staging layer troubleshooting
• Experience operating in HIPAA-regulated environments with PHI data handling, audit logging, and access control requirements
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, coordinate interface testing, and onboard new clinical data sources
• Experience operating within ITSM frameworks (ServiceNow or equivalent) for incident management, change control, and delivery tracking
