Additional responsibilities include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to business areas, assisting in implementation and configurations of software applications, and suggesting improvements in business processes as automation is implemented. The IT Business Analyst will document project definitions and business needs for automation use by the programming staff. Enterprise positions are restricted for use in central IT Division areas reporting up to the institutional CIO and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership and/or functional leadership from the Texas Tech University System institutions. 45438BRTranscriptUp to 25%

  • Perform analysis, elicit requirements, create and maintain documentation, and propose potential solutions for various needs and projects for assigned departments/units. Manage and lead tasks and projects in support of applications, systems and activities for assigned departments/units. Provide guidance to lower tier analysts.
  • Collect, clean, and review large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights. Utilize data visualization techniques to present findings clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders. Conduct internal application and system support, testing and training.
  • Partner with departmental leadership and Data Management User Group (DMUG) to maintain high data quality standards through the use and review of accurate, consistent and reliable data. Establish data governance policies to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and internal policies.
  • Develop, test and deploy machine learning and AI models to resolve business enterprise issues, improve operational efficiency and predict future outcomes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, IT teams and other departments to understand business requirements and design data-driven solutions that align with strategic objectives. Analyze third party applications and tools to meet the business and service goals and objectives for assigned departments/units.
  • Remain current with industry trends and advancements in data analytics and AI, and apply emerging technologies to continuously improve analytical capabilities and model performance.
  • Design and implement data reporting tools and dashboards for key metrics, performance indicators, and business outcomes. Ensure that reports are timely, accurate, and actionable.
  • Provide training to staff and application users for assigned departments/units or projects.
