Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Enterprise Architect AI & Intelligent Platforms position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity and will be remote with expected travel to Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C.
Position Overview
The Enterprise Architect AI & Intelligent Platforms serves as the senior architectural authority responsible for shaping and advancing the organizations enterprise AI strategy. This role operates at the intersection of executive leadership and deep technical expertise, partnering directly with senior business executives, CIO-level leadership, and technology stakeholders to define how AI capabilities drive enterprise transformation.
This individual will articulate a clear vision for AI across the organizationtranslating complex technical concepts into business-aligned strategies while also guiding the design and governance of scalable, secure, and high-performing AI architectures. The role requires strong executive presence, with the ability to confidently engage in strategic discussions, influence decision-making, and communicate AI opportunities, risks, and trade-offs at the highest levels of the organization.
From a technical standpoint, this position is responsible for defining target-state architecture across AI platforms, including Generative AI, agentic systems, and cloud-based AI services (with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure ecosystems such as Azure OpenAI and AI Foundry). The architect will establish enterprise standards, reference architectures, and governance models to ensure AI solutions are implemented consistently, responsibly, and in alignment with long-term business and technology strategies.
This role is instrumental in bridging strategy and executionguiding development teams, evaluating emerging AI technologies, and ensuring that enterprise AI initiatives deliver measurable business value while maintaining compliance with risk, security, and regulatory expectations.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Collaborate with domain leadership to define current and target state enterprise architecture for AI and technology platforms
- Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy and industry trends
- Provide consultation to improve technology delivery, scalability, and operational efficiency
- Translate enterprise AI vision into architecture principles, standards, and reusable patterns
- Partner with delivery teams across business, application, data, cloud, security, and integration domains
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, including Generative AI platforms, for enterprise adoption
- Guide development teams in implementing AI solutions and enterprise architecture standards
- Establish governance frameworks, reference architectures, and documentation for enterprise use
- Support strategic planning and architecture discussions with senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Identify enterprise-level opportunities for platform reuse, system enhancements, and innovation
- Ensure alignment with risk, regulatory, and security standards
What Youll Need to Have:
- Generative AI and Applied AI expertise, including experience evaluating and implementing AI solutions
- Enterprise architecture and solution design experience across cloud, application, and data domains
- Strong executive-level communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business leaders
- Bachelors degree with 7+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience developing and integrating applications using modern architecture principles and patterns
- Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and tools
- Experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or technology delivery
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI or AI Foundry
- Experience evaluating AI technologies and guiding development teams in AI adoption
- Strong understanding of emerging AI trends and their enterprise applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in a business or technical discipline
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Experience in financial services or regulated industries
- Familiarity with AI platforms such as OpenAI or Anthropic
- Experience supporting enterprise-level AI strategy and roadmap development
Pay Range: $100 - $120/hr
