Enterprise Application Architect

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Application Architect to lead the design, modernization, and governance of enterprise application solutions. This role is responsible for defining application architecture standards, evaluating technologies, and designing scalable, secure, and high-performing systems that support business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a strategic technology leader with deep expertise in application architecture, cloud-native solutions, systems integration, and software engineering best practices. This individual will collaborate with business stakeholders, development teams, infrastructure engineers, and security teams to deliver innovative enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Solution & Application Architecture

• Define end-to-end architecture for enterprise applications, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Develop architectural blueprints, solution designs, and technical roadmaps aligned with business and technology strategies.
• Evaluate existing applications and recommend modernization, migration, consolidation, or replacement strategies.
• Establish architecture standards, design principles, and development best practices across the organization.
• Lead technical design reviews and architecture governance activities.

Application Engineering

• Design distributed, cloud-native, and service-oriented applications.
• Create architecture for APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and enterprise integration platforms.
• Guide development teams in implementing scalable and resilient software solutions.
• Define reusable application frameworks, shared services, and design patterns.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and application deployment strategies.

Cloud & Integration

• Design hybrid and cloud-based application architectures utilizing Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Architect secure API integrations with internal and external systems.
• Design messaging and integration solutions using REST, SOAP, GraphQL, event streaming, and messaging platforms.
• Lead application migration initiatives from legacy platforms to modern cloud architectures.

Security & Governance

• Incorporate security-by-design principles into application architecture.
• Ensure solutions comply with organizational security standards, regulatory requirements, and governance policies.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address identity management, encryption, authentication, and authorization requirements.
• Perform architecture risk assessments and technology evaluations.

Technical Leadership

• Provide architectural leadership and technical mentorship to development and engineering teams.
• Participate in enterprise technology planning and digital transformation initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve business capabilities.
• Work closely with product owners, project managers, and executive leadership to align technical solutions with strategic objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering or application development experience.
• 5+ years in an Application Architect, Solution Architect, or Enterprise Architect role.
• Extensive experience designing enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and modern application design principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and middleware technologies.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
