Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking an Enterprise Application Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain our core collaboration infrastructure. The ideal candidate will serve as the subject matter expert for our Atlassian Cloud ecosystem and Google Workspace (Google App Solutions). This role will be responsible for architecting scalable configurations, leading complex migrations, building custom integrations, and ensuring robust security compliance across both platforms to maximize organization productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Administration & Architecture: Manage large-scale Atlassian Cloud sites and Google Workspace/App environments, overseeing user lifecycles, global permissions, and governance standards.
• Integration & Automation: Build robust, scalable integrations between Atlassian tools, Google Apps, and third-party SaaS stacks utilizing REST APIs, Webhooks, and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript)
• Custom Development: Design custom solutions using Atlassian APIs and Google Apps Scripts to automate routine operational tasks.
• Cross-Functional Support: Partner with product, R&D and IT Operations teams to resolve complex performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and deliver technical documentation.

Requirements

Required Education & Soft Skills:

• Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Methodologies: Practical knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe) to align tool configuration with team processes.
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and multi-tasking abilities.

Technical Experience:

• General Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in enterprise application engineering, systems administration, or platform development, demonstrating verified hands-on expertise in architecting, deploying, and supporting complex cloud ecosystems.
• Atlassian Expertise: 6+ years of specialized experience with deep technical proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management (JSM) Cloud environments. Proven track record in configuring enterprise-scale projects, designing advanced custom workflow schemas, implementing granular permission schemes, and leveraging built-in and third-party automation engines to streamline operational processes.
• Google Solutions Expertise: 6+ years with a proven track record of administering enterprise Google Workspace environments, configuring integration points with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and building custom extensions using Google Apps Script and Google Workspace APIs.
• Scripting and API Proficiency: High level of proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Google Apps Script, Groovy, Python, or Bash. Hands-on experience developing against REST APIs, consuming endpoints, parsing structured data, and managing webhooks for system integrations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Federal government experience
• ITIL knowledge
• Agile/DevOps familiarity
• Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell)
• Experience executing cloud migrations or tenant-to-tenant consolidations for Atlassian or Google Tools.
• Familiarity with enterprise automation platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines

Certifications (Preferred):

• Atlassian Certified Enterprise Jira Administrator or Atlassian Certified Cloud Organization Admin
• Google Cloud Certified Professional Google Workspace Administrator

Other Information:

• The salary for this position is $75,000 - $105,000 annually
