Enterprise Application Integration Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Application Integration Engineer to support mission-critical enterprise systems and high-volume transactional applications within a large public-sector technology environment. This role will focus on enhancing, supporting, and integrating enterprise applications while contributing to scalable, service-oriented architecture initiatives.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise application integration, real-time messaging systems, Java development, and systems troubleshooting. This individual will work closely with technical and business teams to design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise solutions and integrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement enterprise applications and integrations
  • Support and troubleshoot critical real-time, high-volume transaction systems
  • Conduct technical research and evaluate technologies, tools, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Design and develop XML data exchanges and web services
  • Assist with system enhancements, maintenance, and new application development
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production defects and system issues
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements
  • Participate in project planning, risk analysis, issue tracking, and communications management
  • Provide weekly project status updates
  • Assist with deployment and integration of COTS products
  • Create test plans, test cases, and support performance testing initiatives
  • Transfer technical knowledge to internal support teams
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Enterprise Application Integration Engineer on enterprise-level IT projects
  • Strong experience with:
  • Java 1.7+
  • Linux
  • C/C++
  • JBoss 7+
  • RedHat AMQ
  • SOAP & REST Web Services
  • TCP/IP protocols
  • XML/XSLT
  • Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL databases
  • Stored procedures, triggers, and views
  • Source control tools such as Git, SVN, or CVS
  • Experience integrating multiple enterprise systems/applications
  • Experience automating data-sharing processes
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within technical teams
  • Experience with business analysis, requirements gathering, and technical documentation

Experience with:

  • Apache Camel
  • Automated testing tools
  • Jasper Reports
  • Eclipse IDE
  • SMTP/SFTP
  • Microsoft Project and Excel
Additional Details
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for deployments or emergency support
  • Position based in Tallahassee, Florida
