Description:

CTG is seeking to fill an Enterprise Architect position.

Position Summary

The Enterprise Architect provides strategic leadership and oversight for enterprise-wide architecture, ensuring alignment between business objectives, technology strategy, and service delivery execution. This role is responsible for defining and governing architectural standards, roadmaps, and design principles that guide the development of scalable, secure, and integrated IT environments. The Enterprise Architect works across domains—including infrastructure, cloud, applications, security, and service management—to ensure cohesive design and consistent implementation across initiatives.

The Enterprise Architect strengthens organizational maturity by standardizing architecture practices, enabling cross-domain integration, and reducing complexity through disciplined governance and technology roadmap execution. This role partners closely with business leaders, delivery teams, and vendors to translate strategic objectives into actionable architectural solutions. Industry‑norm expectations for this role include a strong focus on long-term technology planning, platform standardization, risk mitigation, and continuous innovation—particularly in complex environments where reliability, scalability, and alignment across systems are critical.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architects own enterprise-wide architecture strategy by ensuring consistent design governance, integration, and alignment between business objectives and technology execution.

Architecture Strategy & Roadmap Ownership

  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, standards, and long-term roadmap
  • Ensure alignment between business priorities and technology investments across all domains
  • Establish reference architectures and design principles that guide solution delivery
  • Continuously evaluate and evolve the architecture to support scalability, security, and efficiency

Architecture Governance & Design Oversight

  • Lead architecture governance processes, including design reviews and standards enforcement
  • Ensure consistency and quality of architectural decisions across projects and service areas
  • Provide guidance and oversight on complex initiatives to maintain alignment with enterprise standards
  • Identify and manage architectural risks, dependencies, and technical debt

Cross-Domain Integration & Alignment

  • Ensure integration and interoperability across infrastructure, applications, data, security, and service platforms
  • Eliminate silos by promoting standardized platforms, shared services, and cohesive design patterns
  • Align solution architectures with enterprise frameworks and operational processes (e.g., ITSM, security, cloud)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate architecture across initiatives and portfolios

Transformation & Optimization Leadership

  • Lead architectural direction for modernization, cloud adoption, and platform consolidation efforts
  • Identify opportunities to simplify environments, reduce complexity, and improve performance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiency and service quality
  • Support adoption of automation, observability, and emerging technologies to enhance outcomes

Stakeholder Engagement & Technical Leadership

  • Act as a senior advisor to business and technology stakeholders on architecture strategy and decisions
  • Translate business requirements into practical, scalable architectural solutions
  • Collaborate with delivery teams, engineers, and vendors to ensure successful execution
  • Influence decision-making through clear communication of trade-offs, risks, and design considerations

Standards, Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and reinforce architecture standards, best practices, and documentation discipline
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where they provide business value
  • Promote a culture of innovation balanced with governance and risk management
  • Contribute to organizational knowledge sharing, mentoring, and capability development

Skills & Qualifications

This role requires strategic and technical leadership across enterprise architecture with a strong focus on consistency, integration, and long-term scalability. The Enterprise Architect applies governance practices and structured frameworks to reduce complexity, improve alignment, and ensure predictable technology outcomes across the organization.

  • Leadership of enterprise architecture across infrastructure, cloud, applications, and security domains
  • Strong understanding of architecture governance, standards, and design authority practices
  • Ability to define and execute multi-year technology roadmaps aligned to business objectives
  • Experience driving cross-domain integration and eliminating siloed systems and platforms
  • Strong understanding of risk management, technical debt, and architecture decision trade-offs

  • Ability to enforce design standards, documentation discipline, and architectural consistency
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence senior technical and business leaders
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms (cloud, networking, security, ITSM, integration)
  • Ability to guide solution design while maintaining alignment to enterprise architecture principles
  • Continuous improvement mindset focused on simplification, standardization, and optimization
  • Strong documentation and governance discipline (architecture artifacts, roadmaps, standards)
  • Awareness of emerging technologies (cloud, automation, AI) and their practical application

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is best filled by a strategic technical leader who has proven experience driving enterprise architecture outcomes across complex environments. Candidates should demonstrate ownership of architecture standards, alignment across teams, and measurable improvements in platform consistency, integration, and long-term scalability.

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT, including architecture, engineering, or senior technical roles
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise, solution, or domain architecture
  • Demonstrated ownership of architecture standards, governance processes, and roadmap execution
  • Experience aligning business strategy to enterprise technology architectures and investment decisions
  • Proven ability to drive integration across multiple systems, platforms, and domains
  • Experience leading or guiding large-scale transformation initiatives (cloud, modernization, consolidation)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions across stakeholders, delivery teams, and leadership
  • Experience reducing technical complexity through standardization and architectural discipline
  • Experience partnering with engineering, operations, and service management teams
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and ITIL concepts
  • Experience operating in complex, multi-team or multi-vendor environments preferred
  • Experience in regulated or mission-critical environments preferred

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
