Required Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or related field of study; or equivalent education, training & experience. Required experience: Expert knowledge of middleware platforms such as web application servers like IIS, WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, and Apache. Expert knowledge of business intelligence platforms such as Cognos, Tableau, and OBIEE. Expert knowledge of integration platforms such as TIBCO, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, and Informatica. Expert knowledge of mobile computing platforms, including SOA and security confirmation and management of those platforms. Experience with first- and third-party cloud hosting solutions such as VMware, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure. In-depth knowledge and understanding of a broad range of management, compute, and networking technologies. Advanced knowledge of Windows, VMware, and UNIX-based operating systems. Experience in platform operations engineering and providing technical expertise in support of the engineering design process. Experience analyzing performance of components and systems to troubleshoot, evaluate performance, and determine capacity. Experience using root cause analysis, corrective actions, tactical planning, and strategic planning to correct problems, improve response times/methods, and lead long-term investment plans required to provide sufficient support for IT services to the business. Experience ensuring infrastructure remains in compliance with configurations, patches, and approved designs. Experience participating in, leading, and owning change management processes to properly execute changes with minimum impact to services provided. Experience improving and automating change processes. Experience providing Tier 3 expert support to IT peers to properly support IT infrastructure on a 24x7 basis, including on-call duties, shift work, and emergency support. Experience with vendor coordination and business coordination. Experience mentoring A and B levels on complex issues impacting infrastructure and TVA business processes. Ability to travel to various locations away from the primary work site.

Job Responsibilities: Serves as the client's technical expert in platform operations engineering and provides daily authoritative advice in support of the engineering design process. Works with peers to analyze performance of components and systems to troubleshoot, evaluate performance, and determine capacity. Uses root cause analysis, corrective actions, tactical planning, and strategic planning to lead and own areas including correcting problems, improving response times/methods, and leading long-term investment plans required to provide sufficient support for IT services to the business. Acts as coordinator to ensure that infrastructure stays in compliance with configurations, patches, and approved designs. Active participant, leader, and owner in the change management process to properly execute change with minimum impact to the services provided. Actively engaged in improving and automating change processes. Provides Tier 3 expert support to IT peers as needed to properly support the IT infrastructure on a 24x7 basis, including on-call duties, shift work, and emergency support, vendor coordination, and business coordination. Requires travel to various locations away from the primary work site. Serves as an expert resource for a broad subject area of technology. Mentors A and B levels on complex issues impacting the infrastructure and client's business processes.
