Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Database Analyst is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle database environments, ensuring high availability and performance through proactive monitoring, indexing, and query optimization. This role involves cloning, exporting, and importing databases, schemas, and software code repositories, as well as executing backups and restore procedures to safeguard data integrity and business continuity. The analyst manages Banner ERP (Ellucian) software upgrades and patches, along with database server updates, ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations and security policies. Additional responsibilities include administering ERP application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), leveraging Oracle Enterprise Manager for performance monitoring, diagnostics, and lifecycle management. Additional responsibilities include creating and maintaining technical documentation, as well as supporting data warehouse and Operational Data Store (ODS) maintenance to enable reporting and analytical capabilities across the institution. The analyst is also responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation, troubleshooting database-related incidents, and collaborating with IT teams and NMSU departments to align database solutions with ongoing institutional needs.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Associate''s Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor''s degree + 2 years of relevant experience.
