Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Platform Engineer to play a critical role in the development, evolution, and adoption of a large-scale engineering platform and framework that supports enterprise application development. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys building software, shaping technical standards, and influencing how development teams deliver applications at scale.
In this role, you will own and enhance a mature engineering platform, contribute directly to application and framework development, and partner closely with engineering teams to drive adoption of shared capabilities. You will help establish modern cloud-native development practices, improve platform reliability, and embed security and operational excellence into the software delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Own and maintain a large-scale engineering platform and framework, including enhancements to a complex existing codebase
Define, evolve, and support the technology stack, shared services, and reusable components leveraged by application teams
Partner with software engineering teams to implement and adopt framework capabilities across multiple products and applications
Contribute hands-on through coding, prototyping, peer reviews, infrastructure as code reviews, and engineering collaboration
Drive cloud-native deployment standards, runtime architecture patterns, and platform delivery practices
Establish and improve DevSecOps controls, automation, and security best practices within the platform
Enhance platform observability through logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and reliability engineering practices
Serve as an advocate for platform adoption, technical consistency, and engineering excellence across the organization
Key Requirements
7+ years of software engineering experience with recent hands-on application development experience
Strong Java development experience with extensive Spring Boot expertise in enterprise environments
Experience building, maintaining, or supporting products, platforms, frameworks, APIs, or shared engineering services within large codebases
Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments
Strong Kubernetes experience supporting cloud-native application deployments and operations
Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated software delivery practices
Knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies, software security controls, and secure development principles
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, provide guidance to developers, and influence engineering best practices
Preferred Qualifications
Python development experience
Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog or similar monitoring solutions
Knowledge of GitOps concepts and tools such as ArgoCD or equivalent technologies
Experience with build automation tools such as Gradle or similar platforms
Understanding of AI-enabled software development practices and how AI can be incorporated into modern applications and products
Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
