We’re looking for a motivated, dependable Level 1 Cable Installer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in structured cabling and network installation. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians to install, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling in commercial and industrial environments.

If someone just wants a paycheck, they won’t last here. This role requires attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic)
  • Pull, route, and secure cable through ceilings, walls, and conduit
  • Label and organize cables according to company and client standards
  • Assist with cable terminations, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Read and follow basic blueprints, floor plans, and schematics
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment properly
  • Follow all safety guidelines and OSHA requirements
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or lifts
  • Comfortable working in construction-like environments (dust, noise, tight spaces)
  • Basic understanding of tools and willingness to learn technical skills
  • Strong work ethic and reliability (showing up on time is non-negotiable)

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Previous construction, electrical, or low-voltage experience
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts
  • Experience with cable termination or testing tools
  • OSHA 10 certification

Skills & Attributes That Matter

  • Attention to detail (bad cable work = expensive problems later)
  • Coachability (you’ll be trained, but you need to absorb it)
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Strong communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Career growth opportunities into Level 2/3 Technician roles
