Location: Genesee County, MI (Will be traveling in-state)
**Pay Rate: **$19-20/hour
Hours: Most likely 1st shift, some 2nd shift depending on project
We’re looking for a motivated, dependable Level 1 Cable Installer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in structured cabling and network installation. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians to install, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling in commercial and industrial environments.
If someone just wants a paycheck, they won’t last here. This role requires attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in physically demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic)
- Pull, route, and secure cable through ceilings, walls, and conduit
- Label and organize cables according to company and client standards
- Assist with cable terminations, testing, and troubleshooting
- Read and follow basic blueprints, floor plans, and schematics
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites
- Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment properly
- Follow all safety guidelines and OSHA requirements
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or lifts
- Comfortable working in construction-like environments (dust, noise, tight spaces)
- Basic understanding of tools and willingness to learn technical skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability (showing up on time is non-negotiable)
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Previous construction, electrical, or low-voltage experience
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts
- Experience with cable termination or testing tools
- OSHA 10 certification
