Entry Level Business Development and Job Costing LB Contract Supply | Carrollton, TX
About Us LB Contract Supply is a commercial window treatment, acoustic, and interior finishes contractor serving general contractors, developers, and owners across the DFW area. Our scopes include manual and motorized shades, blinds, acoustic panels and ceilings, glass, and specialty interior finishes on tenant improvement, office, healthcare, multifamily, and residential projects.
The Role This is primarily a business development position with estimating responsibilities. Most of your time will go to building relationships with general contractors and clients, following up on bids, and finding new opportunities for the company. The rest will be spent learning to read plans, review scope, and prepare estimates under the guidance of our senior estimators. The role combines in office days with time in the field visiting clients and jobsites. It suits someone who wants to learn the construction side of the business from the ground up and grow into a senior business development or estimating role.
Business Development Responsibilities
- Follow up on submitted bids with general contractors and clients to track status and win work
- Make regular client visits and office stops to build relationships with new and existing customers
- Identify new general contractors, tenant improvement contractors, multifamily developers, and residential opportunities
- Promote our full range of products and services to existing customers and bundle scopes where possible
- Attend job walks and prebid meetings as assigned
- Gather pricing feedback and competitive information from the market and report it back to the team
- Maintain an organized schedule and log of client activity, and report on it weekly
Estimating Responsibilities
- Pre review bid invitations, plans, and specifications to identify our scopes and flag opportunities worth pursuing
- Perform quantity takeoffs for shades, blinds, and acoustic scopes as training progresses
- Learn vendor pricing portals, markups, and proposal preparation
- Assist senior estimators with bid preparation and submittals as needed
- Work toward handling smaller bids start to finish
Qualifications
- Interest in construction, sales, or both; no prior estimating experience required
- Strong communication skills and comfort meeting people face to face
- Self motivated and organized, with consistent follow through
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and Excel
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits
- Construction management, business, or related coursework is a plus
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, plan reading, or CRM software is a plus
