Position Summary

The Entry-Level Buyer is responsible for procuring production materials, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies, and services required to support manufacturing operations. This position supports supplier relationships, inventory management, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, MRO supplies, and services.

•Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities.

•Support and manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs.

•Review VMI inventory reports and supplier performance.

•Source and procure indirect MRO materials, spare parts, tools, and safety supplies.

•Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery schedules, and availability.

•Expedite critical material and MRO orders.

•Maintain purchasing and inventory data in ERP/MRP systems.

•Assist with supplier evaluation and sourcing activities.

•Resolve invoice and receiving discrepancies.

•Support cycle counts and physical inventories.

•Identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

•Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.

•1-3 years experience in purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, or supply chain functions.

•Knowledge of inventory management concepts, including VMI and MRO purchasing preferred.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.

•Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
