CAD Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking a CAD Drafter to support the design and drafting of custom water filtration systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The role involves creating and modifying 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks, generating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), and preparing engineering documentation for fabrication, production, and assembly processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Prepare and manage engineering documentation for fabrication, production, and assembly processes.
  • Collaborate with project engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication teams to ensure designs are accurate and manufacturable.
  • Assist with both new product development and sustaining engineering efforts.
  • Update and revise existing designs based on project needs or production feedback.
  • Ensure drawings and documentation are organized, accurate, and up to date.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to support project execution.

Essential Skills

  • SolidWorks experience in an industry setting is a must-have.
  • Experience with mechanical design and CAD modeling.
  • Ability to create detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma; a degree in CAD, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • 6months-5+ years of experience in CAD design, drafting, or mechanical design (open to entry-level candidates with strong SolidWorks experience).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or P&IDs is preferred.
  • Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Exposure to manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is a family-owned, collaborative, and down-to-earth culture, set in a warehouse-style manufacturing environment. The role involves close collaboration with welders and fabrication teams. Strong communication skills are essential for success in this environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
