Job Description
Mary Jane’s Friends & Co. is seeking dependable, motivated, and professional individuals to join our growing cannabis support team throughout Southeast Michigan.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position providing hands-on support to licensed cannabis cultivation facilities. No previous cannabis experience is required—we provide paid, on-the-job training for candidates who demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
The work varies from day to day. Contractors may assist with trimming, harvesting, defoliating, packaging, transplanting, cleaning, and other cultivation-related tasks depending on the needs of each client.
This is a performance-based opportunity with high expectations. Contractors who consistently demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, quality, speed, and teamwork will have opportunities to earn more and take on additional responsibilities.
Starting compensation is $14/hour, with opportunities for advancement, bonuses, tips, and increased earning potential for top performers.
Job Responsibilities
- Travel directly to licensed cannabis cultivation facilities throughout Southeast Michigan.
- Perform cannabis trimming, defoliating, harvesting, packaging, transplanting, cleaning, and other cultivation-support tasks.
- Complete repetitive, detail-oriented work efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Follow instructions from team leads, facility management, and client representatives.
- Adapt to different facilities, work environments, procedures, and client expectations.
- Maintain professional behavior and communication at every client location.
- Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled assignments.
- Work effectively as part of a team while remaining accountable for individual performance.
- Follow company, client, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
- Maintain productivity throughout the assignment without sacrificing work quality.
- Safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Work on ladders or scaffolding when required and properly trained.
- Represent Mary Jane’s Friends & Co. professionally at all times.
Assignments vary in length and location. Some jobs may last approximately four hours while others may exceed eight hours. Start times are determined by the client and are commonly around 8:00 AM, although they may vary. Full-day availability is required because assignments end when the scheduled work is completed.

Qualifications
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle and be able to drive directly to client locations throughout Southeast Michigan.
- Courtesy transportation/carpooling may be provided from our office for assignments located more than approximately one hour away.
- Must provide at least four full days of unrestricted availability per week. Additional availability is encouraged.
- Must successfully complete a background screening in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Must successfully complete required drug screening; THC is excluded from testing requirements.
- Must be dependable, punctual, consistent, and able to maintain strong attendance.
- Must be comfortable working at different client locations with changing schedules and job requirements.
- Must be able to follow instructions promptly and accurately.
- Must communicate clearly and professionally.
- Must maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, and completing repetitive tasks.
- Must be comfortable working in active cannabis cultivation environments.
- Must be willing to maintain the performance, professionalism, and quality standards expected by Mary Jane’s Friends & Co.
No previous cannabis industry experience is required. We will train candidates who have the right attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
