    Job Description

    The Entry Level Data Analyst is a hands-on position focused on defining the data needs for the enterprise data warehouse. The position will work within IT to help Sompo International create an industry-leading data warehouse that measures performance of all aspects of the company’s operations.


    Position Responsibilities

    • Compile and manipulate datasets
    • Perform statistical analyses, identify and interpret trends
    • Work with vendors and partners to fulfill data needs and execute programs
    • Design and execute randomized control trials (experiments)
    • Develop infographics, maps, and other data visualizations as needed
    • Compile reports and presentations
    • Propose and implement systems for managing and improving data processes

    Required Qualifications

    • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of basic statistics
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Proficiency in R and/or other data science languages (e.g., Python)
    • Ability to create effective data tools and visualizations
    • Strong commitment to progressive values and causes
    • Ability to work well under pressure, manage several projects simultaneously, and adhere to strict deadlines
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    • Willing to have a flexible work schedule
    • 1-2 years of organizing and/or political experience preferred.
    • Understanding of and respect for requirements of confidentiality.
