Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for an Entry Level Embedded Software Engineer to join our C-17 Mission Software team in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) & Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering organization.The C-17 Mission Software Team develops and test associated safety critical flight software in a fast paced agile engineering environment. Successful candidates will work closely with systems engineering teams, customers, suppliers, and field service representatives. Candidates will research and integrate new technologies to both modernize and sustain fleets of the world's finest airlift platform. Position Responsibilities:Assists with the design, development, test, debugging and maintenance of software that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standardsGathers information to review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into the design of software products for embedded devices and systemsAssists with building and writing code for embedded systems software to run on specific specialized hardwareParticipates in integrating embedded software with hardware componentsAids in analyzing, monitoring and improving the efficiency and stability of embedded software systemsProvides information to test and debug software for embedded devices and systemsAssists with implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development and hardware technologiesAssists with tracking and evaluation of internal and supplier software team performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standardsGathers information to perform embedded software project management functionsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor's DegreeAbility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. CitizenshipExperience with software development using either Java, C++, or PythonExperience developing software using Object Oriented principlesExperience in scripting languagesExperience working with LinuxExperience with build tools (examples: Gnu Compilers, Cygwin, Intel, ARM, etc.)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science or related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of directly related work experience OR 8+ years of related, relevant experience Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, C++, C, Assembly, Matlab)Ability to integrate hardware and software components into a functional system.
