Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing is seeking an entry-level Facilities Coordinator to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across a client's church campus in Durham, North Carolina. This part-time role, with a minimum of 30 hours per week, is ideal for someone with 0-2 years of experience who is dependable, willing to learn, and enjoys hands-on work. The technician will work under the guidance of the Facilities Manager and Senior Technician, supporting ministry activities, worship services, and community events.

Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance & Cleaning

  • Perform general cleaning (restrooms, offices, meeting spaces, floors, trash removal)
  • Support upkeep of grounds, parking areas, and building systems
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies

Event Support

  • Set up and break down rooms for worship services, meetings, weddings, and events
  • Prepare facilities to ensure readiness for Sunday services and weekly activities

Safety & Operations

  • Follow safety, security, and facility procedures
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety issues and report to the manager
  • Assist with contractors when needed
  • Help respond to facility-related needs, including occasional evenings or weekends

Team & Ministry Support

  • Work collaboratively with church staff, ministry leaders, and community partners
  • Provide friendly, respectful interaction with members and guests
  • Support the church's mission and values in daily work

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience)
  • 0-2 years of experience preferred (training provided)
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and general maintenance tasks
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong work ethic and reliability for a part-time, 30-hour/week schedule (40-hours once trained!)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Alignment with the mission and values of Union Baptist Church (faith-based environment)

Required Work Hours

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; schedule may vary based on church events, funerals, and ministry needs.

Compensation

  • $19.25 per hour
  • Minimum 30 hours per week

Sample 30-Hour Work Schedule

Weeks 1-2 (Training)

  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Week 3

  • Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Friday-Saturday: Off
  • Sunday: 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Week 4 (Example Variable Schedule)

  • Monday: Off
  • Tuesday: 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Thursday: 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Friday: Off
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Sunday: 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Additional Notes

  • No prior technical experience is required-hands-on training and support will be provided
  • This position assists senior staff
  • Flexibility is important due to the nature of church and community events
