Celerity, a telecommunications/construction company based in Quakertown, PA is currently looking for a FT Entry Level Fleet & Equipment Technician. Under the direction of the Fleet and Equipment Supervisor and experienced technicians, the Entry-Level Technician will assist with preventative maintenance, inspections, basic repairs, troubleshooting, and general shop activities. This position provides an opportunity to develop hands-on mechanical skills and gain experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The successful candidate should have a mechanical aptitude, willingness to learn, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to follow established procedures and instructions.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist experienced technicians with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, construction equipment, and related equipment.Perform routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, tire changes, battery replacement, filter replacement, and other basic maintenance tasks.Assist with basic hose repairs, component replacement, and other routine mechanical repairs as directed.Assist with responding to deficiencies identified through Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) in coordination with the Fleet Supervisor and experienced technician.Learn to identify basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems and communicate findings to the Fleet Supervisor or senior technician.Use hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and basic diagnostic equipment safely and appropriately.Assist with the inspection and maintenance of aerial lifts, digger derricks, mini-excavators, generators, and other construction equipment.Operate equipment only after receiving appropriate training and authorization.Assist with testing equipment following maintenance or repairs to verify proper operation.Learn and follow applicable DOT, OSHA, manufacturer, and company safety requirements.Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and maintenance completed.Keep the supervisor and team informed of assigned work, work completed, and any issues identified.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized garage bay, workstation, and tool area.Assist with inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and equipment as directed.Assist experienced technicians with more complex repairs and troubleshooting as skills and experience develop.Communicate equipment concerns or potential safety issues promptly to the Fleet Supervisor.Work cooperatively with other departments to support safe and efficient workplace operations.May assist with local field service or emergency repairs under the direction and supervision of experienced personnel.Perform other related duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Previous mechanical, automotive, equipment maintenance, technical, vocational, or hands-on experience is helpful but not required.Vocational, technical school, community college, or other mechanical training is a plus.Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are required.Basic knowledge of hand and power tools preferred.Basic understanding of mechanical systems is preferred.Exposure to electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems is a plus.Experience with construction equipment, generators, trucks, or other heavy equipment is a plus but not required.Welding experience is a plus but not required.Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.CDL Medical eligibility required.CDL Class A is preferred but not required.CompetenciesMechanical aptitudeWillingness to learnAttention to detailBasic troubleshooting abilityProblem sensitivityAbility to follow instructions and established proceduresTime managementCommunicationTeamworkSafety awarenessAbility to learn and apply technical informationVisualization and mechanical reasoningPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Additional hours, emergency response, or occasional weekend work may be required based on business needs.
