Job Description

Entry-Level Freight Dispatcher — Remote

Turn your communication, organization, and problem-solving skills into a career in U.S. trucking and logistics.

Truck Driver Nation LLC is hiring a full-time Entry-Level Freight Dispatcher to work directly with our team and support our U.S. freight-dispatch operations from a remote, work-from-home environment.

Previous freight-dispatch experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with transferable experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, customer service, sales, operations, scheduling, coordination, or other fast-paced professional environments are encouraged to apply.

Direct freight-dispatch experience is not required for every candidate. Relevant professional experience, transferable skills, transportation knowledge, and the ability to learn quickly will also be considered.

What You'll Do

As an Entry-Level Freight Dispatcher, you will help coordinate freight movement and maintain communication between drivers and the businesses involved in moving each load.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Search and evaluate available freight based on truck location, equipment, mileage, rates, and operational requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with drivers, brokers, carriers, shippers, receivers, and customers.
  • Negotiate freight rates when authorized.
  • Calculate mileage and rate per mile when evaluating potential loads.
  • Plan loads and assist with efficient trip planning.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments and requirements.
  • Monitor active loads from pickup through delivery.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records, load notes, and documentation.
  • Provide timely status updates and follow up on active shipments.
  • Assist drivers with routine issues that arise during dispatched loads.
  • Identify delays, scheduling conflicts, or other operational issues and communicate them promptly.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with drivers, brokers, carriers, and customers.

What We're Looking For

  • Freight-dispatch experience is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, customer service, sales, scheduling, operations, administrative coordination, or similar professional environments will be considered.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Confidence communicating by phone, email, and web-based business systems.
  • Ability to perform basic mileage and rate-per-mile calculations accurately.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and remain accountable in a remote environment.
  • Computer suitable for daily professional remote work.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection.
  • Reliable and professional work-from-home environment.
  • Availability during required U.S. freight-operating hours.
  • Familiarity with U.S. trucking, transportation, or logistics operations is an advantage.

Who May Do Well in This Role

You may be a strong candidate if you naturally think ahead, communicate confidently, pay attention to details, and understand how individual decisions can affect a driver's time, a customer's freight, and the profitability of a truck.

Direct freight-dispatch experience can be valuable, but it is not the only relevant background. Strong communication, customer service, sales, transportation knowledge, scheduling experience, problem-solving ability, and experience coordinating multiple moving parts can transfer well into this position.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time. Schedule adjustments may occasionally be required based on active freight operations, pickup and delivery requirements, or driver needs.

Compensation

$20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Ready for Your Next Move?

If you have strong communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-moving transportation environment, submit your application to Truck Driver Nation LLC for consideration for this Entry-Level Freight Dispatcher position.
