Entry-Level Commercial Kitchen Technician — KC Mechanical (Vermont)

Learn a trade. Work locally. Build a career that lasts.

Looking for a hands-on job where you can learn a trade, work independently, and grow your career?

At KC Mechanical, we keep Vermont’s restaurants, schools, and facilities running. For nearly 30 years, we’ve specialized in Commercial Kitchen Appliance Repair, Installation, and Preventive Maintenance—and we’re still growing across Chittenden, Lamoille, Washington, Franklin, Orange, and Addison Counties.

We’re a locally owned Vermont business—big enough to offer great benefits and steady work, but small enough to care about every member of our team.

What You’ll Do

We’re hiring for an Entry-Level Field Technician focused on hot-side commercial kitchen equipment.

You’ll assist with servicing, installing, and maintaining ovens, stoves, fryers, grills, steamers, and other commercial cooking equipment.
No prior experience in this exact trade is required—we’ll train the right person.

A background in electrical, plumbing, mechanical work, or HVAC/R is helpful but not required.

Day-to-Day Includes:

  • Helping diagnose and repair commercial cooking equipment

  • Assisting with installations and preventive maintenance

  • Learning how to troubleshoot and use test equipment

  • Traveling locally to customer sites throughout Vermont

  • Working with experienced technicians and learning from the best

What You’ll Need

  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn

  • Comfort with tools and solving hands-on problems

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to lift 60 lbs, push 100 lbs, and pull 50 lbs

  • Basic hand tools (we can help you get started if needed)

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Position Details

  • Full-time W2 employment (not subcontracted)

  • Paid training and on-the-job mentorship

  • Competitive starting pay with room to grow

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, and HRA account

  • Company van (take-home), gas card, and incidentals card

  • Company-issued iPad and uniform

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Paid vacation, sick time, and floating holidays

  • Overtime and on-call pay opportunities
