Entry Level Legal Assistant/Paralegal for Insurance Defense Firm

Congenial, boutique Long Island law insurance defense firm located in Glen Head, NY seeks a legal assistant/paralegal. The ideal candidate will Experience in insurance defense litigation is a plus but not a requirement.  You should possess good organizational and communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases and collaborate with attorneys to provide outstanding legal support. 
 
Essential Functions 

• Review and analyze discovery documents, case materials and correspondence
• Some drafting of legal documents
• Management of attorneys' calendars/court appearances
• Obtain medical and other records
• Assist attorneys with management of case files
• File/e-file legal documents with NYSCEF and PACER (will train)
• Client contact 

Applicants should possess the following: 

• Good oral and written communication and organization skills
• Prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task
• Attention to detail
• Experience in Microsoft office

Salary Range:
$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year - Commensurate with Experience
