Job Summary

If you're interested in an Entry Level Production Research Field Assistant job, then this is the best role for you! Production Research Field Assistants support all facets of field research through both outdoor fieldwork and limited indoor laboratory tasks. The role requires self-motivated individuals who can work independently and as part of a team in physically demanding conditions. Work includes exposure to outdoor elements, physical activity, and compliance with required training, policies, and seasonal overtime requirements.

Job Description

• Assist with planting and staking research plots
• Perform pollination activities
• Collect data using electronic devices
• Conduct research plot maintenance
• Support hand harvesting activities
• Assist in process improvement projects
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
• Aid in spraying activities
• Support other special projects as assigned

Skills Required

• 0–3 years of experience
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
• Experience or ability to learn Microsoft Office
• Ability to use iOS devices for data collection
• Strong attention to detail

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Completion of company and USDA-APHIS required training and compliance with policies

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a drug screening and criminal background checks
• Shift Start: 07:00 AM
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to stand, bend, and perform physical work for long periods outdoors
• Exposure to varying weather conditions required
• Must be 18 years old minimum (or 17 and graduated, but not eligible to drive company trucks)
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
• Weekend and extended hours required during peak seasons
• Pesticide application experience is desirable but not required

Pay Rate/Salary

• Estimated Salary: $13.36 to $21.36 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
