Job Summary
If you're interested in an Entry Level Security Officer job, then this is the best role for you! The Security Officer is responsible for proactively safeguarding site property, employees, physical assets, intellectual property, and information assets. This role responds to security service calls, emergency situations, alarms, and incidents while maintaining order and safety on site. The position also requires accurate report writing, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and support for security policies, training, and implementation.
Job Description
- Perform mobile patrols of the site, including roadways and parking lots within the assigned area
- Protect the site from trespassers and unauthorized entry
- Protect company property from damage or theft
- Investigate and respond to calls for security service
- Provide emergency response, rescue, CPR, and first aid during sudden illness or injury
- Respond to intrusion and equipment alarms
- Conduct initial investigations of accidents or crimes involving company property or employees
- Maintain order and ensure the safety of employees and visitors during emergencies
- Prepare clear, accurate, and timely incident and activity reports using computer systems
- Serve as a liaison with police, law enforcement, emergency responders, utility personnel, and security vendors
- Collaborate with employees, contractors, visitors, and guests across business units
- Train site employees and security personnel and recommend security upgrades and policy improvements
- Develop reporting processes and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure security procedures are followed and incidents are reported appropriately and on time
- Participate in or lead programs, trainings, workshops, security awareness campaigns, and implementation of directives that enhance workplace personal security
- Foster an environment of trust and confidence through integrity and professionalism
- Think independently, respond to changing conditions, and make sound decisions based on existing circumstances
Skills Required
- Law enforcement, military, and/or corporate security experience
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, accurate, professional, and timely written communication
- Basic computer skills
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Professionalism, integrity, and trust-building ability
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to maintain all certifications and training required by the jurisdiction of authority
- Ability to obtain and maintain the State of Hawaii Guard Card in accordance with HRS 463-10.5
- CPR and first aid capability
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a drug screening and criminal background checks
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
- Must be available for overtime and weekend shifts
- Must be able to work beyond the normal eight-hour day when necessary
- Scope of responsibility is local
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $16.29 to $24.29 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
