Entry Level Surveyor

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Survey Rodman to join our team. This role involves supporting field survey projects by accurately establishing points, clearing lines, and assisting in data transmission. You will be responsible for maintaining and transporting survey equipment, coordinating with the crew, and adhering to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Transmit survey data to the computer network and acquire data for field use.
• Accurately clear lines, establish points, tape, chain, and level for field survey projects as directed by the Crew Chief.
• Maintain and stock the crew"s vehicle with necessary equipment and report any mechanical or safety issues.
• Load, clean, and store field surveying equipment used by the crew.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with other crew members to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
• Observe all safety guidelines, especially when working around traffic or active construction sites.
• Accurately identify various types of trees encountered during field survey work.
• Assist in training entry-level rodmen as requested.
• Cut and clear brush and trees from the survey line.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, using tools, climbing, and lifting/moving up to 50-75 pounds.
• Support SUE work by performing heavy labor, including using a jackhammer, digging, using a company vehicle and site cleanup.

Essential Skills

• Experience in construction, land surveying, landscaping, or manual labor.
• Ability to learn surveying techniques.
• Experience working outdoors in Florida"s climate.
• Basic math skills and effective communication abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Willingness to travel out of town during the week.
• Must have clean driving record, and ability to pass compliance checks.
• Motivated to work hard, learn, and advance in the role.
• Experience in survey, construction, or landscaping is preferred.

Work Environment

This role operates in a 2-3 person crew, primarily outdoors in Florida"s challenging climate. The workday starts at 6am, with travel to sites lasting until 4-5pm, including required overtime paid at 1.5x. Travel may involve overnight stays Monday through Thursday, with lodging and per diem provided. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
