Work Schedule

This position works a rotating 1st-shift schedule and requires weekend availability.

The rotation involves working approximately 50% of Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. Once every four weeks, the schedule aligns to provide four consecutive days off: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

An example of the rotation may include:

• Monday through Friday for two weeks
• Wednesday through Sunday for two weeks

Candidates must be comfortable working this rotating schedule and scheduled weekends.

Position Summary

Reliance One, Inc. is hiring a Test Technician for one of our trusted clients in the automotive testing and engineering industry.

This is a hands-on position primarily responsible for setting up and performing tests as part of durability or safety testing teams. The Test Technician will prepare test articles, fixtures, and vehicles; interpret technical specifications; collect measurements and sensor data; and ensure testing is completed accurately and according to established procedures.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, comfortable using hand and power tools, and able to independently troubleshoot problems in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform durability and/or safety tests
• Interpret technical specifications and testing requirements
• Accurately prepare and set up test articles, fixtures, and vehicles
• Evaluate the performance of test articles using measurements, sensors, and testing equipment
• Document detailed test procedures, activities, and results
• Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors and customers
• Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure testing deadlines are met
• Monitor, maintain, and properly operate test equipment
• Identify testing or equipment issues and assist with troubleshooting
• Collaborate with other facilities to maintain consistent operating practices
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across testing operations
• Perform physically demanding testing activities, including kneeling and lifting

Requirements

• High attention to detail
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Excellent critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills
• Experience using basic hand and power tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• General computer proficiency
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes approximately 50% of weekends
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with preparing test fixtures, components, and vehicles

Preferred Qualifications

• General understanding of automotive parts and mechanical systems
• Welding experience
• Hi-lo/forklift experience
• Experience using basic fabrication equipment, including band saws and drill presses
• General understanding of metric and standard fasteners
• Previous automotive, testing, laboratory, mechanical, or technician experience
