This role is ideal for an early-career engineer interested in hands-on design work, plan production, and collaboration with experienced transportation professionals on projects that serve public agencies and communities. This role is based out of our Columbus, OH office.Key Responsibilities Assist with the design of roadway and highway projects, including horizontal and vertical alignments, typical sections, and grading plansSupport preparation of construction documents such as plan sets, profiles, cross-sections, and detailsPerform engineering calculations related to roadway geometry, drainage, pavement design, and quantitiesAssist with development of project specifications, cost estimates, and quantity take-offsApply state and local DOT design standards, manuals, and specifications to project workCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil/site, drainage, structures, utilities, and surveyParticipate in design reviews and incorporate redlines and comments from senior engineersAssist with field visits and construction support activities as neededMaintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with company standardsSkills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering disciplineInternship or co-op experience in roadway or transportation design preferredWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3DKnowledge of OpenRoads ORD design software is a plusUnderstanding of basic roadway design principles and civil engineering fundamentalsAbility to follow established design standards and work under supervisionBenefits 401(k) w/ company matchHealth insurance w/ HSA option, Vision, Dental, LifeFlexible schedulePaid time offReferral programTuition reimbursementCatalytic Coaching - Employees draft a development plan aimed at improving contributions in their current job and increasing the potential for other opportunities.
