Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Roadway Engineer in our Orlando, FL office to grow and strengthen our transportation design practice. This is an excellent career opportunity to join a nationally recognized multi-disciplined engineering firm providing planning and design services to the Florida Department of Transportation and municipal agencies throughout the state of Florida. Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop roadway geometrics and prepare detailed plans for the construction of safe and efficient roadways and highways based on applicable design criteria and specifications
  • Prepare engineering reports and contract documents
  • Work with and learn from experienced Roadway Engineers and Project Managers
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers in other transportation disciplines including Structures, Drainage, and Traffic
  • Provide engineering support for projects in construction
Required Skills & Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience working on FDOT or similar public agency projects
  • EI or EIT license or the commitment to obtain within one year
  • Knowledge of FDOT roadway design criteria and roadway plans production processes
  • Proficiency with Microstation Open Roads Designer
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and complete work in a timely fashion to meet project schedules
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Strong desire to learn and be a key contributor to an outstanding team of industry-leading professionals
