Remove steel plates from vessels using a washout tip.
Cut, fit, and prepare steel plates for welding.
Bevel plates for structural weld joints using a washout tip.
Install structural attachments including saddles, eye pads, and hangers capable of supporting heavy loads.
Set up and operate SMAW welding equipment.
Perform welding using 6010 and/or 7018 electrodes.
Safely operate acetylene torch washout tips.
Follow all shipyard safety procedures and quality standards.
Key Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of Welder Fitter or Structural Fitter experience or recent welding graduate.
Experience in a shipyard or heavy industrial environment preferred.
Ability to set up and operate SMAW welding equipment.
Proficient using 6010 and/or 7018 welding rods.
Experience using an acetylene torch washout tip.
Ability to read measurements and perform accurate fit-up work.
