Description:
Employees in this position will provide Environmental Health Services to Minidoka and Cassia Counties and throughout the district. The Environmental Health Specialist will assist clients in securing services, permits or licenses; and conduct field inspections. Potential candidates will possess good knowledge of department programs and services in order to both provide and obtain accurate information; determine eligibility for available services. A high degree of confidentiality is involved in performing work with the public.

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health;

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint-based background check and have a valid driver's license.
Work may involve aggressive or hostile situations and exposure to extreme weather, physical hazards, infectious diseases, toxic substances, and hazardous materials. Positions may involve lifting 50-pound objects to waist height, 24-hour on-call response to environmental problems, and travel within the local service area of the public health district.
