Opportunity Overview



Teradyne is seeking a Regional Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to support environmental, health, and safety compliance activities for its California operations, primarily located in San Jose and Agoura Hills. This role serves as the local EHS subject matter expert responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable environmental permits, hazardous waste regulations, Cal/OSHA requirements, and corporate EHS policies. The successful candidate will work closely with Facilities, Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, and Corporate EHS teams to maintain regulatory compliance, manage environmental programs, support injury and illness reporting, oversee hazardous waste activities, maintain site chemical inventories, and drive local sustainability initiatives.





Key Responsibilities



+ Serve as the primary EHS resource for Teradyne’s San Jose and Agoura Hills facilities.


+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.


+ Manage hazardous waste programs including waste characterization, inspections, manifest tracking, storage, and disposal activities.


+ Maintain environmental permits and coordinate permit renewals, inspections, and regulatory reporting.


+ Support compliance with Cal/OSHA requirements and corporate safety standards.


+ Coordinate injury, illness, and incident investigations, reporting, corrective actions, and trend analysis.


+ Maintain OSHA logs and support annual OSHA reporting requirements.


+ Manage site chemical approval processes, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and chemical inventory programs.


+ Track utility consumption, waste generation, and environmental metrics required for emissions inventories and sustainability reporting.


+ Lead and support local sustainability initiatives including waste reduction, recycling, energy efficiency, and resource conservation programs.


+ Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance audits.


+ Deliver EHS training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.


+ Support emergency response planning and business continuity activities.


+ Act as the primary contact during regulatory inspections and compliance audits.

+ Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.


+ Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety, environmental compliance, or industrial safety programs.


+ Working knowledge of hazardous waste management, environmental permitting, air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, and chemical management requirements.


+ Experience with OSHA recordkeeping, incident investigations, and occupational safety programs.


+ Strong understanding of hazardous materials management and SDS programs.


+ Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and implement practical compliance solutions.


+ Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.


+ Ability to work independently across multiple sites.






Preferred Qualifications



+ Experience supporting semiconductor, electronics, manufacturing, laboratory, or technology operations.


+ Knowledge of California environmental and occupational safety regulations.


+ Experience conducting EHS audits, regulatory inspections, and permit compliance reviews.


+ Familiarity with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.


+ Experience with sustainability programs, utility tracking, greenhouse gas reporting, or environmental metrics management.


+ Experience utilizing data analytics, automation, or AI tools to improve EHS reporting and compliance processes.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $78,700 - $112,400. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.





Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
