Environmental Aide position is a short term position to allow team members to decide if they would like to further their career in long-term care by attending STNA classes to become state tested and/or the next step by enrolling in a nursing program (RN or LPN).
The job responsibilities of the Environmental Aide include:
Make beds, take out trash and dirty linens
Pass snacks, ice, and water pitchers
Pass meal trays in the dining room and resident rooms (cannot feed residents)
Pick up finished trays and dirty dishes from rooms. Wipe off tables.
Label and stock resident personal care items and shower rooms
Answer call lights (inform STNA of resident's need if unable to help)
Clean wheelchairs
Performing other related activities as assigned or requested.
The Environmental Aide must be physically able to:
Move (sit, stand, bend and lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
Lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
Assist with the evacuation of residents.
